Impulse drive has two parallel cylinders with rigid connection and with separately driven discs

A simple impulse drive has two parallel cylinders linked by a rigid coupling and with each cylinder fitted with a rotating disc. The discs are driven intermittently by separate drives, with the reaction force causing the cylinders to rotate in the opposite direction. By applying alternate drive to the discs a reaction force is generated to propel the whole system.
