The device has a holder for exact adjustment of a test object relative to a scanner, a mechanism for adjusting the beam path between the object and scanner and a data processing device. The scanner's transmitter unit has a continuous mode and senses the light/laser beam reflected at the object. The scanner's control unit and/or the positioning unit has a programmable unit for loading a process control program for controlling the scanner. The device has a holder (3) for exact adjustment of the essentially round test object (2) relative to a scanning unit (4), an adjustment mechanism (5) for adjusting the beam path between the test object and the scanner unit and a data processing device (12). The scanning unit's transmitter unit has a continuous mode and senses the light/laser beam reflected at the object. The scanning unit's control unit and/or the positioning unit has a programmable unit for loading a process control program for controlling the scanning unit.
