PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a lens barrel thinner in thickness in an optical axis direction in the lens barrel equipped with a filter plate and a CCD, etc., behind several lens groups. SOLUTION: In a relation between the filter plate 20 which is held by a holding frame 11 ahead of the CCD 30 and a 3rd lens group 80 arranged just in front of the filter plate 20, the rear end face of the lens of the 3rd lens group 80, that is, the outside diameter dimension of the lens is set within the extent of the exposed surface 21' of the filter plate 20 which is defined by the holding frame 11 and exposed. Then, the 3rd lens group 80 can be stopped in close contact with the filter plate 20 in a collapsed state, then, the lens barrel is made thinner in thickness.
