PACKING MATERIAL FOR PIPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently stop water leaking into a connection part of pipes buried deep in the ground. SOLUTION: A packing material 10 engaged between the inner circumferential surface 5b and the outer circumferential surface 2a of the connection part of the jacking pipe 1 and the jacking pipe 3 comprises a plurality of lip parts 14, 15 and 16 attached inside a recessed groove 7 formed on the outer circumferential surface 2a of the jacking pipe and inclining and extending from a tip side as the direction of insertion into the jacking pipe 3 to an inner side. The material has a hollow part approximately in the center and is composed of a body part 12 of a non-aqueous expansive rubber material having a recessed groove part 18 formed at a rear end face abutting on a recessed groove internal surface 7a and a recessed part 17 formed in the rear of the lip part 16 on the rear end edge side, an abutting part 22 of an aqueous expansive rubber material filled and fixed inside the recessed groove part 18 and a rear end corner part 21 of the aqueous expansive rubber material filled and fixed inside the recessed part 17. The abutting part 22 and the rear end corner part 21 are fixed and formed by integral vulcanization with the body part 12 with being buried in the recessed groove part 18 and the recessed part 17 of the body part 12.
