<p>The invention provides fluorosulfonyl compounds having high polymerizability, a process for the preparation thereof, fluorosulfonyl-bearing polymerizable monomers derived from the compounds, polymers obtained by polymerizing the monomers, and polymers bearing sulfonic acid groups which are derived from the polymers. Compounds (5) are produced by fluorinating a compound (3) into a compound (4) and decomposing the compound (4). Compounds (7-1) having high polymerizability are produced by subjecting compounds (5-1), which are included among the compounds (5), to thermolysis.
