VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT COMPRESSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively manufacture a detent mechanism of an oscillation plate constituted by a constant velocity universal joint and having a simple structure in an oscillation plate type variable displacement compressor. SOLUTION: A center shaft 14 which supports the oscillation plate 6 driving a piston 8 and a drive plate 5 driving it and does not rotate is provided on an extension line of a drive shaft 4 so that it is not overlapped on the shaft 4 in the radial direction. A plurality of guide grooves 121 are formed on an inner face of an outer wheel 12 which is a part of the oscillation plate 6, a guide groove 142 in the axial direction is formed on an outer peripheral face of a spherical part 141 which is a head part of the center shaft 14, and a steel ball 15 is inserted therebetween and is held at a predetermined position by a retainer 18. Since these parts constitute the constant velocity universal joint, the movement performed by the oscillation plate 6 when the drive plate 5 rotates together with the drive shaft 4 becomes pure oscillation movement and does not include components of reciprocating rotary movement at all, thereby causing no vibration and noises.
