PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feed roller for a woodworking processing machine capable of surely preventing generation of slippage between the feed roller and the lumber without impairing the lumber and automating positioning of the lumber. SOLUTION: A roller main body 6 is provided in the feed roller of the woodworking processing machine. A peripheral part 7 comprising hard urethane rubber is provided so as to cover a peripheral surface of the roller main body 6. A plurality of grooves 8 are provided parallel to each other on the peripheral surface 7a of the peripheral part 7. In development of the peripheral surface 7a, an angleθmade by a direction of extending the grooves 8 and a linear line parallel to a rotary axis of the roller main body 6 is 10 to 30 deg.. Further, a width of the groove 8 is 3 mm and its depth is 2.5 mm.
