PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device provided with a means for preventing the corrosion of wiring for connecting between pads and an integrated circuit, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: A pixel array is formed on a display area of a substrate, and a plurality of pads 270 are formed in a non-display area of the substrate. The liquid crystal display device is provided with integrated circuits 500 which are mounted on the non-display area of the substrate, and are electrically connected with the pads, and made to generate signals for making the pixel array operate, and conductive barrier layers 275 which are separated from each pad and have a potential equal to that of each pad by the internal connection among the integrated circuits, are formed in the peripheral part of each pad to be connected with the integrated circuits. When the bumps of the integrated circuits are bonded to the pads. The conductive barrier layers can prevent the pads and the wiring connected with the wiring from being corroded.
