PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a sublimation dye thermal transfer recording sheet in which an intermediate layer and a dye receiving layer both consisting of powder coating films and having excellent heat insulating properties and cushioning properties exist in this order on a base material and heat from a thermal head is effectively used without missing it to the base material to be able to form a thermal transfer image with a high density and being clear. SOLUTION: While a continuous base material 1 is run, this base material is dry-coated with a mixture of the first powder coating and thermally expandable hollow particles and the powder coating is melted and the hollow particles are expanded by heating the coated surface under a pressure to form the intermediate layer consisting of a coating film of the first powder coating containing these thermally expanded hollow particles on the base material and then, while this intermediate article 6 is run, this intermediate layer is dry-coated with the second powder coating and the second powder coating is melted by heating this intermediate article under a pressure to form a dye receiving layer consisting of a coating film of the second powder coating. |
