PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a zinc-alloy-plated steel having a high corrosion resistance and an excellent workability. SOLUTION: The plate steel, having a high corrosion resistance and an excellent workability, has a plating layer comprising 18-25 mass% Al and the balance Zn. At the interface of the plating layer and base iron, an Fe-Zn intermetallic compound layer is present. The thickness of the intermetallic compound layer is 20μm or lower. The plating layer may further contain 5 wt.% or lower Mg.
