PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set the maximum and minimum value for a remaining quantity of a material in a heating tube and to adjust and maintain automatically the remaining quantity of the material in the heating tube within the range between the designated maximum and minimum values without bringing about a sudden change in it in the measuring process for a metal injection molding machine. SOLUTION: The material supply device is provided with a means of detecting limit value for detecting that the remaining quantity of the material in the heating tube has reached the maximum value (Qmax) or the controlled minimum value (CQmin), a means for setting a unit variable quantity corresponding to the divided area, which sets a unit increase in quantity (Qp(1), Qp(2),..., Qp(X-1), Qp(X)) being larger by a designated quantity and a unit decrease in quantity (Qm(1), Qm(2),..., Qm(X-1), Qm(X)) being smaller by the designated quantity, compared with a basic supply quantity (Qb) that is equal to injection mass per 1 shot supplied to the heating tube corresponding to each of divided area of at least more than two (A1, A2,..., A(X-1), A(X)) divided between the maximum value and the controlled minimum value of the remaining quantity of the material in the heating tube, and a means of supply control which supplies the material while increasing the remaining quantity of the material in the heating tube by the designated quantity step by step corresponding to the divided area between the maximum value and the controlled minimum value.
