PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous type heating furnace which realizes a temperature uniformization in a longitudinal direction of a slab, and an improvement of fuel unit consumption due to resulting reduction of a slab extraction temperature, by finding an installing position of a regenerating burner in the heating furnace which employs both the regenerating burner and a continuous combustion type side burner, and the optimal temperature distribution along a widthwise direction in the furnace. SOLUTION: In a continuous type heating furnace having (preferably an added preheating zone), a preheating zone, a heating zone and a soaking zone, the continuous type heating furnace is characterized by installing the continuous combustion type side burner in the heating zone and the soaking zone, and installing the regenerating burner in the preheating zone, to give the in-furnace temperature distribution along the widthwise direction in the preheating zone the highest part around the furnace center. |
