PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide SZ slots for an optical cable, a method for manufacturing the slots and the optical fiber cable having ribbon coated optical fiber accommodated in the slots which does not direct only a turning part of the ribbon coated optical fiber accommodated in a specific groove outside a take-up drum, and reduce the breaking probability of the ribbon coated optical fiber. SOLUTION: In the SZ slots 23 for the optical cable having SZ spiral grooves I-V which are carved on an outer circumference and whose directions alternately turn around at a predetermined turning angle, circumferential angular positions in a slot cross section of a plurality of the turning centers of each spiral groove do not always exist at the same angular position in the longitudinal direction of the slot.
