PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polylactic acid slit yarn having biodegradability, and excellent mechanical properties such as a tensile strength and a knot strength, having little deterioration with passage of time and having such excellent weaving properties that stable continuous weaving can be performed with an existing loom. SOLUTION: The polylactic acid slit yarn contains a polylactic acid polymer mainly composed of a polylactic acid and an aliphatic-aromatic copolymer polyester having a glass transition temperature of <=0 deg.C. The compounding ratio of the polylactic acid and the aliphatic-aromatic copolymer polyester having a glass transition temperature of <=0 deg.C is in the range of (polylactic acid)/(aliphatic-aromatic copolymer polyester)=95/5 to 65/35 (mass%).
