PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel sheet for a thinning deep-drawn and ironed can, which has little fluctuation in flange width of each can, and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: This steel sheet has a steel composition of, by mass %, 0.01-0.06% C, 0.1-0.6% Mn, 0.01-0.1% Al, 0.001-0.005% N, Al/N>=25, and the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities, and has 20 MPa or less of an increment of tensile strength by laminating a polyester resin film thereon. The manufacturing method comprises recrystallization-annealing the cold-rolled steel sheet having the above composition, and then overaging it before the laminating treatment, or further heating it at 270 deg.C for 10 seconds after the laminating treatment.
