PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-repellent coating enabling low-temperature film formation, easily applicable at low cost, and giving coating film of high wear resistance and hardness, in view of the fact that conventional water-repellent film is not only poor in low-temperature film formability and the adhesion to substrate but also low in film strength such as low wear resistance and low hardness, and to provide improved coating film by using the water-repellent coating. SOLUTION: This water-repellent coating film comprises (a) inorganic microparticles with the surface put to hydrophobicizing treatment, (b) a silicone- modified resin and/or a hydrolysis condensate of a silane compound, and (c) a metal alkoxide substituted and/or coordinated with organic group and/or a hydrolysis condensate of its own or with other component(s).
