The invention relates to a structural unit for constructing a tower of a wind turbine. This structural unit comprises a delimitation surface, which forms a portion of the outer surface of the tower and which has a through opening provided for accommodating a door. At least one area of the structural unit containing the through opening is at least partially formed as cast part comprised of a preferably weldable casting material.
