Distillation plant in which the working medium of a heat pump is a stream compressed by an ejector condenser (10). Liquid, collected at (6), is converted to stripping steam in vessels (7,8). Liquid is evaporated under pressure in (7) to act as the driving medium in (10), which draws in vapour from evaporator (8) to act as stripping steam. Pressure in (7) is produced by a pump (70) whilst liquid delivery to (8) is controlled by a valve (80). Also claimed is the process associated with this plant. |
