PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorded article wherein there is no unevenness in the glossiness, the glossiness, the feeling and the texture are favorable, and which is equipped with a high picture quality and a high image fastness being equivalent to a silver salt photograph; an ink jet recording medium which can form a protective layer in order to physically and chemically protect an image formed with ink, without spoiling the smoothness; and an ink jet recording method. SOLUTION: This ink jet recording medium is constituted by providing an ink-accepting layer on one surface of a base material. Then, on the surface of the ink-accepting layer, an image by this ink jet recording method and the protective layer to cover the image are formed. In such an ink jet recording medium, the Beck smoothness on the surface of the base material on which the ink-accepting layer is provided is set to be 200 seconds or higher, and the Beck smoothness of the surface of the ink-accepting layer is set to be 60 seconds or higher. Also, for the ink jet recording medium having no ink-accepting layer, the base material which is treated with a metallic salt solution is used, and the Beck smoothness for either one of the front and rear surfaces is set to be 200 seconds or higher. |
