PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a primer coating for a vehicle, which can be made into a thin film, does not make the color of substrate visible through a thin film even being made into the thin film, has excellent opacifying properties, can form a coating film having low aluminum sedimentation and has excellent coating stability and a coating film for a vehicle having such properties and to provide a method with which such a film for vehicle can be formed. SOLUTION: This primer coating for a vehicle comprises in a primer coating to be applied to a polyolefin-based substrate for a vehicle, a modified polyolefin resin and resin-coated aluminum powder obtained by coating aluminum powder with a synthetic resin insoluble in an organic solvent. This coating film for a vehicle is formed by using the primer coating for a vehicle. This coating method comprises using the coating film for a vehicle.
