The invention relates to a system of attaching an element (2, 38) at at least one point thereof, particularly an element made from a fragile material such as glass, to a supporting structure or frame (7; 42). At at least one attachment point, the system comprises a mechanical connecting device (6; 33) which is used to: (i) fix an element (2; 38), particularly an element made from a fragile material such as glass, to a supporting structure or frame (7; 42); or (ii) connect to a similar adjacent element (2). Said mechanical connecting element comprises at least one arm (8A, 8B; 34, 35, 36) having: a first end (9A, 9B) which is connected to a fastening device (5A, 5B; 37) that is mechanically connected to the element (2; 38); and a second end (10A, 10B) which is connected to the core (11; 39), said core (11; 39) comprising a tubular casing (12; 40) that houses a mechanism for adjusting the degrees of freedom in relation to the fixing of the element or said connection. The invention also relates to a wall comprising at least one fixed (2) or opening (38) element which is fixed to a structure or frame (7; 42) using one such mechanical connecting device.
