PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewage treatment system capable of improving the performance of sewage treatment by preventing, for example, the spillage of the sewage containing solid waste into a treatment tank due to the clogging of a solid-waste-spillage prevention member which can be washed efficiently when the sewage containing the solid waste flows in. SOLUTION: The sewage treatment system for treating the sewage containing the solid waste comprises the solid-waste-spillage prevention member (punching metal 16) preventing the spillage of the solid waste and provided at the outlet 15 of a first tank (a solid-liquid separation tank 10) which the sewage containing the solid waste flows into, a washing means (a diffuser 13, etc.), for washing the solid-waste-spillage prevention member, a detecting means for detecting the sewage flowing in, and a control means for starting the washing means when the detecting means detects the sewage flowing in.
