PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in a conventional hammer mower in which grasses cut with a group of cutting blades rotating at a high speed, soil or the like accumulate in the rear part of a cutter cover to lower working efficiency when grasses are cut while the mower proceeds. SOLUTION: A hammer mower 30 having cutter blades 22 fixed on the outer periphery of a cutter rotary shaft 21 in a freely rotatable manner is placed on the front side of a traveling part, and the center of a rotary shaft of the cutter is placed eccentrically in a forward side from the center of a circular cutter cover 26. The gap B1 between the rotary locus of the front ends of the cutter blades and the rear part of the cutter cover is made larger than the gap A1 between the rotary locus of the front ends of the cutter blades and the front part of the cutter cover. Supplementary wheels 27 for setting a cutting height of the hammer mower are placed on the sides of the cutter cover.
