PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a palm fiber mat as a plant culture soil material and a greening unit each ensuring the greening of architectural structures such as buildings. SOLUTION: The palm fiber mat is made by compressing a soft and thin upper layer where fibers gathered from coconuts are compressed and the compressed fibers are softly solidified with natural rubber, a soft and thick intermediate layer where a mixture of palm-bark powder and palm fibers gathered from coconuts is softly solidified with natural rubber, and a lower layer where fibers gathered from coconuts are compressed and the compressed fibers are firmly solidified with natural rubber, so as to be in a multi-layer form. The greening unit is obtained by setting the palm fiber mat in a flame body having a waterproof low-back side wall. The planter comprises the palm fiber mat and a waterproof frame body having a high-back side wall and holding the mat.
