METHOD FOR PREPARING ENDOTOXIN-BINDING PROTEIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the yield of a recombinant endotoxin-binding protein such as a bactericidal/permeability-increasing protein and a lipopolysaccharide- binding protein by improving a method for isolating the endotoxin-binding protein which is secreted by transfected host cells in an appropriate cell culture medium. SOLUTION: This method comprises addition of a cation exchange material to the medium as the means of increasing the yield of the recombinant endotoxin-binding protein such as the bactericidal/permeability-increasing protein and the lipopolysaccharide-binding protein.
