PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing scales in a reaction tank used for a reaction of synthesizing a solid catalyst for olefin polymerization, by which the scales sticking to a baffle and an agitator shaft can be economically removed in a short time without opening a reaction tank nor jet washing with high-pressure water. SOLUTION: The scales are removed by dissolving them in a solvent containing at least one polar compound selected from a group consisting of an alcohol represented by general formula R<1> OH (R<1> is a C1-8 alkyl group), a ketone represented by general formula R<2> COR<3> (R<2> and R<3> are a C1-4 alkyl group), and acetylacetone.
