A feedstuff for laying hens designed to produce eggs rich in iodine and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids consists principally on cereals, extruded linseed at 6-8 wt.% of the foodstuff and a mixture of seaweeds containing at least 1000 mg/kg of iodine at 2.5-7 wt.% of the feed Independent claims are included for a food complement containing the linseed and seaweed mixture for addition to traditional laying hen foods and for a method of feeding laying hens consisting of supplying a daily ration of 100- 130 of the claimed foodstuff.
