<p>A safety gate for process equipment lifts and lowers between two vertical guides. The frame includes at least one vertical brake bar which is gripped by pairs of brake shoes which are pivot mounted to increase the brake force as the frame moves down. This ensures that the gate is braked with a minimum of overrun. The brake is activated if an operator traps an arm under the gate as the gate is lowered.</p> |
