<p>The invention relates to recombinant vectors, expression cassettes, and nucleic acids, the use of which enables the expression of multiple transgenes from a single vector. Preferably, the vectors are plasmids, adeno-associated virus, or adenovirus vectors that can be used to infect and create mammalian cells in order to express multiple transgenes. Typically, expression systems and methods for expressing multiple transgenes require the use of more than one vector or the use of an internal ribosome entry site (IRES). For a number of reasons, the new vectors, expression cassettes, nucleic acids, and methods of the invention provide advantages over these other expression systems.</p> |
