[Also in Groups XVI and XVII] A device for cutting blanks from a moving web in a carton making machine (see Group XVII) comprises a roller 66 having a cutter 65 co-operating with a stationary blade 64. The roller and blade 64 are housed in a framework pivoted at 61 so that the device may be set at any angle to the line of travel of the web necessary to produce a cut at right angles to that line, the angle being varied according to the speed of the web through the machine. The machine also includes sector cutters 42 which co-operate with discs 43 to make longitudinal cuts in the web. |
