The invention concerns a rotomoulding method and apparatus in which the shear viscosity of the melted polymer is reduced by applying low frequency vibrations to the polymer during the moulding process. A chamber 2 contains a mould 3 which is connected via a rotary drive mechanism 4 to a motor 5, allowing simultaneous rotation around two axes. Means for applying low frequency vibrations is provided in one or more of four alternative positions. Either on the outside wall of the chamber P1, on the mould P2, attached to the drive shaft P3 or connected to the end of conduit 6, which leads from the mould to the outside of the chamber P4. <IMAGE> |
