PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifter which can stop a wheelchair on a platform in a proper position. SOLUTION: A motor-driven link bracket 21 is provided at a lower end of a tower rail 11; first and second links 23 and 32 are supported on the link bracket 21; and the platform 33 is supported by the first and second links 23 and 32. The first link 31 is fixed to a first plate 41 of the platform 33, and the second link 23 is supported on a second plate 42 which is supported turnably on the first plate 41. A recess 71 of the second plate 42 is extended, and provided in a part in which a rear wheel of the wheelchair is located in a state in which the wheelchair is arranged in a prescribed position of a standstill of the wheelchair during the operation of the lifter 1. The recess 71 is provided with a pressure sensitive sensor 81 for detecting a load from the rear wheel; and power supply for a motor for driving the link bracket 21 is cut off when the sensor 81 is activated by detecting the load.
