The support device has a foot plate (1) with at least one column (2) for connecting the support device with a welding gun and a contact piece (5) supplied with a voltage via the welding gun. The foot plate has a slit for reception of a ceramic ring (12) fitted to the end of the straight section (14) of the hook-shaped welding bolt (13), the contact piece having a holder for the curved section (15) of the welding bolt.
