The invention provides a brushing apparatus hardly affected by metal powder and the cleaning water during the brushing operation and free from damage caused by the contact with the metal strip (P). The brushing apparatus of the invention reciprocates in the width direction of the metal strip (P) with its brush roll stand being controlled by a control unit.
