<p>A filter element formed by enclosing an annular filter bed e.g. carbon granules, ion exchange resin, molecular sieve in the external volume defined by two coaxial cylinders of resistant material e.g. plastic, steel. Raw filtrant enters the bed through perforations in the central zone of the outer cylinder, traversing the bed to outlet perforations in the inner cylinder extremities to exhaust through the inner tube. The tubes are rigidly held by terminal annular seals of high mol. wt. plastic, removable during recharging operations.</p> |
