A fan and its drive (4) are fitted in the housing between apertures. Connected to the fan drive is a wind turbine (2) deriving energy from the atmosphere and which drives a generator (3). The turbine has an elongated body (5) rotatable around its longitudinal axis and is located on the outside of the building.
