The hinge for a spectacle frame side-piece consists of a female component (9) on the outer end of the frame, designed to engage with a tube (1) on the end of the side-piece which has a cylindrical cavity with a hemispherical base to receive a ball (S) and a slot for the side piece to rotate. The female component has an axial segment (8) with a curved recess (5) in its end to press against the ball.
