A tripod unit (4) with three trunnions (5) is formed in an outer ring (1) opposite a track groove. The track groove has raceway grooves (3,8) supporting balls (9) axially rolling over the outer ring. A guide block (6) is supported and pivotable relative to each trunnion. A moving distance restricting unit suppress movement of each retainer (10) to half of the moving distance of the guide block.
