<p>The object of the invention is a method for marking of wood, in which method wood is marked with a marking paint. The object of the invention is as well a marking paint for marking of wood. Characteristic to the method in accordance with the invention is the fact that a marking paint including colouring agent, water and glycol is used for marking.
