The invention concerns a textile product obtained by spinning, comprising a polymer material containing copper dispersed therein, characterized in that said polymer material consists of at least a polymer or copolymer selected in the family consisting of polymers and copolymers resulting from polymerization of at least a monomer selected among the group consisting of vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, vinyl and acrylonitrile acetate, chlorinated poly(vinyl)chlorides, cellulose and cellulose acetate and the copper is in powder form, called powder with anti-algae activity, copper and/or at least a copper derivative, homogeneously dispersed inside said polymer material and textile materials containing said product. The invention particularly concerns fibers, based on PVC or PVC mixed with chlorinated PVC containing a copper or a copper derivative powder. The invention also concerns the use of said fibers as anti-algae agents for slowing down or inhibiting growth of an algae or for partly or completely destroying it or for making materials exhibiting such activity. |
