<p>A first tube (10) has an end portion (11) with a socket (12) that is tapered by a frustoconical wall (20) that ends with a radially extending land (22). A copper brazing ring (27) is disposed on the land. An end portion (42) of a second tube (40) having a knurled surface (50) is press fitted into the socket to provide a coupling assembly. Upon heating the coupling assembly, the copper brazing ring melts and flows through the grooves (52) in the knurled surface to weld the second tube to first tube and to seal the interface therebetween.</p> |
