PURPOSE: A device and a method for downloading remote control functions in an integrated remote controller are provided to download infrared data outputted from various remote controllers including infrared codes for transmission in mutually different infrared signaling systems according to electronic appliances, through an external input device without an addition operation of remote controller keys. CONSTITUTION: An external input device(100) outputs downloading signals to download various remote control function data. A key input part(200) outputs corresponding keys signals by key operations of a user. A memory(300) receives and stores the downloading signals outputted from the external input device(100), and receives control signals to output pre-stored remote control reproducing data. A microcomputer(400) receives the key signals outputted from the key input part(200) to output corresponding control signals, and receives and outputs the remote control reproducing data. And an infrared signal output part(500) receives the control signals outputted from the microcomputer(400), to convert the remote control reproducing data into infrared signals and output the converted signals.
