PURPOSE: Provided are an air drier using compressed hot air and a method for drying the compressed air using the same air drier, the method being capable of increasing regeneration efficiency of a dry tower and yields of compressed air generation, and ensuring operation accuracy of the air drier. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of auxiliary-heating compressed air from an air compressor(10) by an auxiliary heater(24), heat-regenerating a second dry tower by passing the heated compressed air through the second dry tower, wherein dehumidifying agent therein is dried by the heated air, cooling the heated compressed air passing out the second dry tower by a cooler(75), separating condensed moisture from the condensed air by a separator(76), drying the compressed air passing out the separator(76) by passing it through a first dry tower(50), exhausting the dried compressed air, changing three-way director valves to dry compressed air by sequentially passing it through the cooler(75), the separator(76) and the first dry tower(50), exhausting the dried air to blow out dried hot air, returning a portion of the dried air exhausted from the first dry tower(50) to the second dry tower(60) to absorb moisture of the dehumidifying agent in the second dry tower(60), thereby regenerating the second dry tower(60), exhausting the compressed air with moisture, changing a dry tower regeneration mode to a compressed air drying mode by changing direction of the three-way director valves(20,30,80) and four way director valves(40,70).
