PURPOSE: Provided are silver-based catalyst and a method for fabricating the same which is capable of eliminating NOx over wide temperature ranges. CONSTITUTION: The catalyst comprises carrier impregnated with Ag of 1.0 to 6.0 wt%, and a metal compound 0.01-1.5 wt% containing at least one element selected from a group of Ti, W, Mo and V. The method comprises the steps of (a) dissolving purified Al2O3, Boehmite (alumina monohydrate) or their mixture into an aqueous liquid solution, (b) drying the solution of the step (a) at a temperature of 100-120°C, (c) calcining the resultant material of the step (b) under oxygen or air ambient at a temperature of 100-650°C, and (d) coating carriers impregnated with Ag on a support.
