PURPOSE: A method for preventing no-load operation of a microwave oven is provided to allow for rapid and simple detection of no-load operation by using the temperature change detected in the cooking chamber. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the first step(S1,S2) of sensing the temperature change in a cooking chamber by using a temperature sensor arranged within the cooking chamber, when a microwave oven starts operation; the second step(S3) of permitting a micro computer to calculate change of voltage in accordance with the temperature change sensed in the first step; the third step(S4) of judging whether the change of voltage calculated by the micro computer falls within the preset range of change of voltage of no-load operation; and the fourth step(S5) of stopping operation of the microwave oven by using the micro computer, if it is judged in the third step that the change of voltage falls within the preset range.
