ELECTRIC HEATER FOR PURIFYING EXHAUST GAS OF DIESEL ENGINE VEHICLE

PURPOSE: An electric heater is provided to reduce energy consumption for oxidation of smoke, while reducing costs for replacement and maintenance. CONSTITUTION: An electric heater(4) is mounted in front of a ceramic filter of an exhaust pipe, and burns the particulate matter of exhaust gas collected in the filter by the power supplied in accordance with the control of an electronic control unit. The electric heater is divided into a central segment(400) and a circumferential segment(401), and the circumferential segment is divided into plural units which are disposed radially around the central segment. Each of segments is provided with power in a continuous or selective manner so as to burn the smoke collected in the filter.
