Thin composite panel (10) consisting of a fiber reinforced resin sheet (14) - formed with non-twisted single-filament fibres, preferably interwoven in the form of matting, which are embedded in a hardenable resin - and of a slab (12) of stone or ceramic material. The fiber reinforced resin sheet performs a structural function while the slab of stone or ceramic material has a mainly decorative function.
