<p>An operational transconductance amplifier circuit, and a liquid crystal display that uses such an operational transconductance amplifier circuit circuit, having a controlled slew rate. The operational transconductance amplifier circuit has an output that drives a load (126), beneficially a liquid crystal display panel. That operational transconductance amplifier circuit includes a first current source (132) that sinks a first tail current (204), and a second current source (134) that selectively sinks a second tail current (205). That second current source (134) is selected by a control signal applied to a switch (136). When the second current source (134) sinks the additional second tail current (205) the slew rate of the operational transconductance amplifier circuit is increased. When used in a liquid crystal display, the operational transconductance amplifier circuit drives the liquid crystal display panel with a ramp. During ramp fly back (tfb), the second current source (134) sinks the second tail current (205) and increases the slew rate.</p> |
