The invention relates to the field of human organ transplantation and to measuring the weight and volume of an organ or tissue. More specifically, the invention can be easily used to obtain information relating to the degree of steatosis in any hepatic graft with the organ being preserved while said data are being obtained. According to the invention, a ratio is established between the density of the organ or tissue and the quantity of fat stored in same. It has been shown experimentally that steatosis is predominant in livers having a lower density. The inventive measuring device comprises a container (1) which is closed using a conical cover (2) that is equipped with a threaded hole at the vertex thereof. A flowmeter device or funnel (8) is positioned on said threaded hole which enables the chamber to be filled completely.
