PURPOSE: A method for setting statistics in a switching system is provided to process and combine data respectively fetched from the switching system to store the data in a buffer memory, and to periodically output the data for an operator. CONSTITUTION: A statistics setting request is received from an operator(S31). A memory area such as a buffer pointer and an accumulate buffer pointer is allocated(S32). Signals are periodically received, to set signals capable of processing and delivering desired statistics(S33). Statistical data are fetched in a desired process according to the time set by the operator, and processed then combined(S34). The processed and combined data are stored in a buffer memory and corresponding buffer memory addresses are sequentially stored in the buffer pointer(S35). And the processed and combined statistical data are outputted to an HMI(Human Machine Interface) using the buffer memory addresses stored in the buffer pointer(S36).
